5 of The Best Restaurants in West Palm Beach

No matter where I travel, I’m always in search of amazing food the restaurants in West Palm Beach do not disappoint. During the cold gray winter, New Yorkers flock to this inter-coastal haven of sunny weather, palm trees, and great shopping. Just about 1hr and 15 minutes north of Miami, this city even has its own airport (PBI) just 10 mins from the city center.

Since my mother moved to this vacation destination almost 2 years ago, I have spent a fair amount time retreating to West Palm for an escape from the hectic life of NYC. After relaxing and laying poolside with a refreshing cocktail, my reservation awaits. I always explore the food scene when traveling and do my research to ensure I’m not wasting any calories on anything less than delicious. Now that I call Southern Florida my home away from home, I’ve put together my list of 5 restaurants in West Palm Beach you must try when you are in town.

My 5 Best Restaurants in West Palm Beach

The Alchemist

Alchemist

This gastro pub really hits the spot with its exquisitely executed combination of crafted cocktails and inventive dishes while putting their own twist on classic comfort food. It truly has something for everyone’s taste while serving up massive burgers, USDA Prime aged steaks, and an eclectic mix of appetizers, making this restaurant a must try. After a different dining establishment almost ruined our Christmas dinner, General Manager, Craig Steel and his staff served up some of their house favorites and made us feel like family. Open for Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner, stop by for a delicious meal and definitely try a cocktail or two, I promise you won’t be disappointed.

The Alchemist 223 Clematis Street, WPB

My Recommendations – Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Salmon Burger and Lobster Mac & Cheese

Palm Deck at the Hilton West Palm Beach

manor hilton

Nestled right across from City Place, the newly opened Hilton boasts gorgeous modern interiors and a stylish pool area that houses its chic restaurant Manor. I have been here for brunch on a few occasions and the food was delicious. Don’t count on this place being quiet or relaxing because on any given Saturday you may be dining near a pool party with a rocking DJ. The menu features breakfast favorites as well as lunch fare, so grab a mimosa or glass of Rosé and get your brunch party on!

My Recommendation – Smoked Salmon and Prosciutto w/ Guacamole on Toast

Lynora’s

Lynora's

If you have scrolled through the recipe section of my site then you know I have a weakness for Italian food. Even with my extremely high standards, I was quite surprised with how delicious the food was at Lynora’s. Their menu is quite expansive and features a variety of housemade pasta, artisan cheese, and cured meats, and a host of Italian favorites. Even my mother, the picky eater, loves it and brings all of her out-of-town guests there to enjoy. With happy hour specials, a late night menu and even brunch, this could become your new favorite restaurant.

Buccan

Buccan

Technically this restaurant is in Palm Beach, not West Palm, but it is too good to leave off the list. Buccan is one of my favorite restaurants period! This upscale and stylish dining experience always leaves me wishing I had a bigger stomach. Clay Conley’s inventive American cuisine features a collection of small plates and bites that are truly remarkable. Never ordering the same thing twice, I am trying to work my way through the menu so I won’t miss a single delectable dish. Nothing is what is seems at Buccan, and all the flavors are elevated to the next level. Be sure to make a reservation, because this place books up quickly.

Buccan 350 South County Road, Palm Beach

My Recommendations – Steak tartare, Short Rib Empanada, Squid Ink Orecchiette

Avocado Grill

A delicious example of farm-to-table dining, Avocado Grill sources all ingredients from local producers for its artisan menu. Yes, the menu has Mexican influences, considering its tasty guacamole and selection of tacos, but it’s so much more! This colorful restaurant with a laid back vibe segments its menu by category to highlight each dish’s fresh ingredients. It features a comfortable atmosphere and an approachable menu which makes it perfect for a casual lunch or dinner. Not to mention it’s an avocado lovers dream!

Avocado Grill 125 Datura St. WPB

My Recommendations – Any of the Ceviches & Crispy Shrimp Sliders
