I love your tip about Maple syrup. I will have to give that a try.

Sherita – be certain to use Grade B organic maple syrup though

I absolutely love this concoction! I also like it with maple syrup. I just feel healthier overall when I drink it consistently first thing in the morning.

I agree with you Alyson! I leave out the Maple syrup because of extra calories but added it can be a way to treat the drink as a cleanse.

Hi, can I substitute organic maple syrup with organic honey?

You don’t say how much cayenne pepper to add to lemon water. I think I will add honey instead of maple syrup.

SORRY FOR MY LAST COMMENY. I now see recipe at top of article:
A CUP OF WARM CAYENNE LEMON WATER CONSISTS OF:
1 CUP OR MUG FULL OF WARM (NOT HOT) WATER
THE JUICE OF 1 HALF OF A LEMON
      A DASH OF CAYENNE PEPPER
      Thanks.

I agree with you about cayenne’s effects on indigestion. I suffer from digestive issues and whenever I eat chili peppers with lemon juice, my stomach functions normally. And I also feel more energetic when eating chili peppers. No wonder why many people take cayenne supplements these days.

I am not yet experienced as I am on my third day using his mixture of lemon and warm water and today I have learned that a pepper can also be added.

Hi, thank you for your blog post. Can you explain why the water should be warm and not hot? I heat water on stove and add lemon and cayenne to my mug. I wait for it to cool down before I drink it. Is that all it is… or does lemon react to hot water in a way you don’t want. Or am I over thinking all this? Lol. Thank you

This is absolute. I’ve been drinking a cup of hot chili water every morning for years but I never thought of putting lemon juice in it. It was delightful. Hot, spicy & tangy. It relieved a terrible bout of indigestion Within minutes. I began belching ,which relieved the pressure of bloat and the warmth of the lemon liquid with the extra heat of the chili powder had a numbing , relaxing effect on the stomach pain of indigestion. This delicious cup of remedy combined with a short morning walk brought me quick relief and boosted my energy. I am grateful for your writing of this article and the sharing of your knowledge, Thank you. Gassy Grammy♥️
